Terms in this definition
- Backup policy
Setting in an Azure Backup vault fixing when one type of workload is backed up and for how long. Policies don't extend beyond their vault, so VM and Azure Files policies must be created in each vault separately.
Related terms
- Cross region disaster recovery
An optional Windows 365 Enterprise add-on, configured in a Cloud PC user setting, that keeps Cloud PC copies in a backup region. If an administrator activates it, temporary Cloud PCs are created there, with a target RTO and RPO of under 4 hours.

Disaster recovery means getting a service running again from another region or site, with success judged by RPO and RTO; uptime SLAs and data retention are different concerns.
